A recent study has found that students in Sweden who are at risk of dropping out of school are performing worse in English than their peers who are not at risk of dropping out. The research, conducted by Stockholm University and the Swedish Institute for Educational Research, compared the results of students who were at risk of dropping out with those who were not at risk. The results showed that students at risk of dropping out had lower grades in English than their peers who were not at risk of dropping out. The researchers concluded that more attention needs to be paid to the educational needs of students at risk of dropping out in order to reduce the gap in English language proficiency between them and their peers.
