Despite their previous successes, the company was unable to continue to operate due to the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This news comes as a shock to many who had high hopes for the project, especially as the space industry has been booming in recent years. Virgin Orbit had been working on launching satellites and other payloads into space, with plans to launch commercial and internet services in the near future. Unfortunately, these plans will not be coming to fruition.
