Pakistan Launches First Astronaut to Space Aboard Virgin Galactic's Flight
Virgin Galactic, a spaceflight company owned by Richard Branson, announced today that it will be partnering with the Pakistani Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) to launch its first spaceflight from Pakistan in October 2023. This marks the first time that Virgin Galactic will be launching a spacecraft from a country outside of the United States. This partnership is a major milestone for the Pakistani space industry and could open up opportunities for the country to explore space and to participate in the growing commercial space tourism industry. SUPARCO and Virgin Galactic will be working together to develop the necessary infrastructure and to ensure the safety of the mission. This is an exciting time for both countries and it will be interesting to see how this partnership develops over the coming years.
