Tropical Fruits Under Threat: How They Can Become Climate Resilient
As climate change continues to cause increasingly extreme weather and temperature fluctuations, the availability of certain tropical fruits may be at risk. A recent study conducted by Cornell University has found that many varieties of tropical fruits are simply not resilient enough to withstand the effects of climate change, and could potentially become extinct within the next few decades. This means that, in the near future, some of our favorite fruits such as mangos, bananas, and papayas may no longer be available. While some varieties of other fruits, like citrus, have proven to be more resilient in the face of climate change, it’s important to remember that these varieties may still be at risk and that it is essential to protect and preserve the biodiversity of tropical fruits.
