In a recent study published in the journal Nature, researchers have discovered fossils of an extinct marine reptile that terrorized the seas of ancient Japan. This fearsome creature, called the Ichthyosaurus larkini, was an enormous marine reptile that measured nearly four meters long and weighed more than a ton. It had a large jaw filled with sharp teeth, and its powerful tail was used to propel itself through the water with tremendous speed. Its diet consisted of fish, squid, and other marine animals. Scientists believe this creature lived during the Late Cretaceous period, around 100 million years ago.
