NASA Teams Up to Prepare for OSIRIS-REx's Return with Asteroid Sample
In a stunning feat of space exploration, two teams of scientists have successfully collected a sample from the asteroid Bennu using the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft! After nearly two years of orbiting the asteroid, OSIRIS-REx was able to reach out its robotic arm, capture a sample of the surface, and bring it safely back to Earth. This is the first time that scientists have been able to gather a sample from another celestial body and bring it back to our planet. This is a major breakthrough in the field of space exploration and will allow us to better understand the origins of our universe.
