A team of astronomers have made an incredible discovery about a galaxy group in the early universe. Using the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) in Chile, the team observed the group of galaxies, known as the “COSMOS AzTEC-3” group, and found that it is the most massive structure ever detected at such an early stage in cosmic history. This finding provides important insights into how galaxies form and evolve over time, and helps us better understand the universe’s history. The observations also suggest that COSMOS AzTEC-3 is the most massive structure known at this time in cosmic history.
