Advancing Prostate Cancer Treatment in Black Men with Biomarkers
For decades, Black men have been disproportionately impacted by prostate cancer, making up the highest percentage of men affected by the disease. Now, researchers are taking a closer look to see if biomarkers can help provide a better understanding of how prostate cancer progresses in Black men and potentially improve the detection and treatment of the disease. A new study published in the journal Cancer has identified several biomarkers that may be associated with prostate cancer progression in Black men, providing a valuable tool for clinicians and researchers. The biomarkers identified in the study could help improve early detection of prostate cancer in Black men, as well as provide a better understanding of how the disease progresses in this population. By better understanding the progression of prostate cancer in Black men, clinicians may be able to adjust treatments and provide better care.
