New Discoveries of Moons Around Saturn Revealed
Saturn, the sixth planet from the Sun, has long been known for its stunning rings and its wealth of moons. Now, scientists have discovered two new moons orbiting the ringed planet, bringing Saturn’s total number of moons to 82. Using the Subaru Telescope in Hawaii, the team of astronomers were able to identify the new moons, which are both small and irregularly shaped. The first is located near the planet’s outermost edge of its A-ring, while the second is located in between two other moons in the planet’s D-ring. These findings are sure to be of great interest to the astronomical community and could provide further insight into the formation of the solar system.
