Exploring the Potential of Chloroplasts for Treatment of Huntington's Disease
For those of us living with Huntington’s disease (HD), there is good news. A recent study has suggested that chloroplasts, the energy-producing organelles inside plant cells, may be useful in treating the condition. Chloroplasts have been shown to be capable of delivering gene therapy molecules directly to the cells of HD patients. This could provide a new treatment option for those living with this debilitating neurological disorder.
