A new algorithm developed by researchers at the University of Granada (UGR) can make chemometrics applications more efficient and powerful. Chemometrics is an interdisciplinary field that combines chemistry and mathematics to study and analyze data from chemical systems. The new algorithm helps to identify the most important variables in a dataset, allowing chemical companies to better understand their data and make better decisions. The algorithm works by analysing the correlations between variables, and then selecting those which have the most influence on the data. This technique makes it easier for chemists and other scientists to analyse large datasets in a shorter amount of time. The results of the algorithm have already been tested in different areas such as analysis of polymers, food safety, and even in the medical field. The algorithm is now available to all chemists and scientists interested in using it.
