Exploring the Distant NGC 6397 Galaxy with the Chandra X-Ray Observatory
In a stunning discovery this week, astronomers have identified a new galaxy, the NGC 3034, using the Chandra X-ray Observatory. This galaxy is located in the constellation of Ursa Major and is estimated to be between 11 and 16 million light-years away from Earth. This newly discovered galaxy is believed to contain billions of stars, as well as a supermassive black hole at its center. The X-ray observatory was able to detect the black hole due to its intense X-ray emission. This discovery is important as it provides astronomers with a better understanding of how black holes, galaxies, and stars evolve over time.
