The study looked at data from the EPA’s 2006 National Rivers and Streams Assessment, which found that the concentrations of pollutants from sewage were consistently higher than those from agriculture. This means that sewage is the primary source of pollution in rivers, and that it needs to be addressed if we want to improve water quality.
