NASA's OSIRIS-REx Spacecraft Moves Closer To Sample Asteroid Bennu
NASA’s OSIRIS-REx spacecraft recently took a big step forward in its mission to collect samples from an asteroid! With its newly adjusted trajectory, the spacecraft is now just 600 miles away from the asteroid Bennu. OSIRIS-REx is on a mission to collect a sample of the asteroid’s surface material which will be sent back to Earth for analysis. Scientists are eager to learn more about the origins of our solar system and the samples from Bennu may provide valuable insight. The spacecraft is expected to reach Bennu on December 3rd, and the sample collection process will begin shortly after. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the exciting moment when OSIRIS-REx collects a piece of the past!
