NASA Unveils Next-Generation Gamma-Ray Detectors for Closer Views of Cosmic Events
NASA researchers have recently unveiled a new set of detectors that will provide an unprecedented view of gamma ray events in the universe. The new detectors, called the Gamma-ray Imager/Polarimeter (GRIPS), will be mounted on the International Space Station (ISS) to detect and measure gamma ray bursts, neutron stars, and high-energy cosmic rays.
