NASA to Launch COMPair Gamma-Ray Mission with High-Altitude Balloon
NASA is set to launch a new mission that will take to the skies in search of gamma rays. The Compton Spectrometer and Imager (CoSi) mission will be launched in the form of a balloon and will travel around the world collecting data on gamma ray bursts, which are the most powerful explosions in the universe. CoSi will be the first balloon-borne mission to detect and measure gamma rays from distant galaxies, providing us with unprecedented insights into the universe. This mission will also provide us with a better understanding of the physics of these gamma ray bursts and the nature of the universe. Stay tuned for more updates on CoSi as the mission gets closer to launch!
