Saudi Astronauts Set to Launch on Private Mission to the International Space Station
A private mission to the International Space Station (ISS) with Saudi Arabian astronauts is now set to launch in April 2023, according to a recent announcement from the Saudi Space Commission. This marks the first time Saudi Arabia will be sending astronauts into space and is a significant milestone in the country’s push to become a leader in the space industry. The mission will also be the first private mission to the ISS, with the astronauts being flown by a private commercial spacecraft. The mission is part of the larger vision of the Saudi Space Commission to enable more opportunities for space exploration, research, and development. The two astronauts, Hazzaa AlMansoori and Sultan AlNeyadi, will conduct scientific experiments and perform educational activities while in space. This mission is a testament to the commitment of the Saudi government to explore and develop space exploration capabilities, and we can’t wait to see what the astronauts accomplish in April 2023!
