Italian Astronauts to Make History by Flying to the Edge of Space
Today, the European Space Agency (ESA) announced that an Italian astronaut will be the first to fly to the edge of space. Commander Roberto Vittori will be leading the mission, which will take him to the International Space Station (ISS). Commander Vittori will be embarking on the first-ever mission to the edge of space, a historic journey that will last for two weeks. For this mission, he will be accompanied by two other crew members, ESA astronauts Samantha Cristoforetti and Luca Parmitano. This mission marks a milestone for Italian space exploration, as well as for the ESA.
