India Set to Launch Unmanned Space Mission in 2023
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has announced that it will be launching an unmanned mission to the moon in 2023. This mission, named Chandrayaan-3, is the third Indian lunar mission and will be the first to include a lander and rover. The mission is expected to have a major impact on the exploration of the moon and its resources.
The mission will focus on the lunar south pole, an area of particular interest due to its craters of permanently shadowed regions which may contain water ice. The rover will be equipped with a suite of scientific instruments to explore the surface and send back images and data about the moon’s composition.
ISRO’s Director of Public Outreach, Dr. K. Sivan, has said that the mission will “open up new horizons of space technology for India,” and will be a significant step forward in space exploration. This mission has the potential to revolutionize our understanding of the moon and may even open up new possibilities for human exploration in the future.
