Recently, the Hubble Space Telescope has been used to capture a stunning image of a lenticular galaxy, NGC 3115. This galaxy is located approximately 30 million light-years away from Earth in the Sextans constellation. NGC 3115 is an excellent example of a lenticular galaxy, which is a type of galaxy that is intermediate between an elliptical and a spiral galaxy. Hubble captured this image using its Wide Field Camera 3, which is a visible-light camera that is capable of capturing pictures of faint and distant galaxies. This image of NGC 3115 contains numerous details, including an outer halo and a distinct central bulge. In addition, the image also reveals faint features, such as spiral arms, that are not visible in other images of the galaxy. This image of NGC 3115 is an incredible example of what the Hubble Space Telescope is capable of capturing.
