NASA recently announced plans to launch the Europa Clipper mission, an ambitious spacecraft mission to explore the icy moon of Jupiter, Europa. Launching some time in 2023, the spacecraft will take detailed images of the moon’s surface, as well as measure its composition and look for evidence of a potential subsurface ocean. In addition, the spacecraft will investigate the moon’s mysterious plumes, which could provide clues as to the moon’s habitability. This mission is a huge step forward in our exploration of the outer solar system and could potentially lead to the discovery of life beyond Earth.
