Earthlings have long speculated what the night sky would look like on the red planet. Now, researchers from the University of Arizona have determined that the visible range of light on Mars at night is much brighter than previously expected, suggesting that the night sky would be a beautiful and unique sight to behold. The research team used a combination of numerical models and data from the Curiosity rover to map the different wavelengths of light reflected throughout the Martian night. The results showed that the sky on Mars is illuminated by a range of light in the visible spectrum, including blues, greens, and even some yellows and reds.
