How Whiteboards Can Help Create Random Groups of Students with Ease
A recent study has found that using whiteboards to randomly group students can be a simple and effective way to create cooperative learning environments. The study observed classrooms in which students were asked to draw their own name on a whiteboard. Afterwards, the whiteboards were used to randomly group the students, allowing them to work together on a problem-solving task. The results showed that the randomly-grouped students outperformed those who were pre-sorted into groups. This suggests that random grouping can be beneficial in helping to create a cooperative learning environment that encourages collaboration and problem-solving.
