European Spacecraft Launches to Explore Jupiter's Icy Moons
The European Space Agency (ESA) has launched a spacecraft towards Jupiter, with the mission of exploring the ice-covered moon Europa. After a five-year journey, the spacecraft is expected to arrive at Jupiter in 2029, where it will begin its mission to investigate the icy moon. The spacecraft, named the Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer (JUICE), will study Jupiter’s atmosphere and its four largest moons, Ganymede, Callisto, Io, and Europa. It will also investigate the potential for life on Europa, which is thought to contain a vast ocean beneath its icy surface. The mission will also help scientists to better understand the origin and evolution of our solar system. JUICE is the first mission of its kind and is a major milestone in space exploration.
