Navigating the Digital Non-Degree Credential Black Hole
The future of digital credentials has been up in the air for some time now. With the rise of online universities and the impressive advancements in technology, the world has been shifting towards a more digital-based system of learning and credentials. But there has been one big issue that has been holding back this shift: the lack of an authoritative body that can verify the authenticity of digital credentials. Without such an entity, digital credentials have been stuck in a bit of a “black hole” of sorts, with no real way to prove their validity.
However, a new report from the National Bureau of Economic Research suggests that there may be a way out of this digital credential “black hole.” The report recommends the creation of a “digital credential registry” that would be overseen by a third-party, independent body. This body would be responsible for verifying the authenticity of digital credentials and issuing digital non-degree credentials for those who have successfully mastered certain skills or competencies.
This proposed “digital credential registry” could be a real game-changer for those looking to earn digital non-degree credentials. No longer would they have to worry about the validity of their credentials, or worry that they won’t
