NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope is set to revolutionize the search for exoplanets. In 2023, JWST will launch into space to observe distant worlds and help us better understand our universe. With twice the resolution of the Hubble Space Telescope, JWST will allow us to observe exoplanets in detail and determine if they could potentially host life. JWST will be able to measure the size, mass, and temperature of exoplanets, and even detect an atmosphere. This will be a huge step forward in our search for exoEarth-like planets and exoVenus-like planets. It will also be able to measure the composition of an exoplanet’s atmosphere and look for the presence of biomarkers like oxygen and methane. With the launch of JWST, humanity is finally on the cusp of discovering planets beyond our solar system that could potentially host life.
