A new protocol dubbed “Quantum advantage with shallow circuits” (QASH) has been developed by scientists at the University of Tokyo and the National Institute of Informatics, which will enable quantum computers to achieve reliable quantum advantage. QASH allows quantum computers to perform calculations faster than any classical computer, without the need for large and complex circuits. Instead, QASH works by using shallow circuits – a simplified version of the circuit that can be used to perform the same calculations but with less hardware. This breakthrough could have wide-reaching implications for the development of quantum computing, allowing quantum computing to become more accessible and practical than ever before.
