NASA to Launch Spacecraft to Retrieve Material from an Asteroid and Bring it to Earth
NASA is about to take a very special journey. In September 2023, their spacecraft, OSIRIS-REx, will bring back the first ever samples of material from an asteroid back to Earth! This groundbreaking mission will be the first of its kind, and it’s sure to bring us a wealth of new knowledge about our Solar System and the origins of our Universe. OSIRIS-REx will travel to the asteroid Bennu, which is located hundreds of millions of miles away from Earth, and collect a sample of the asteroid’s surface material. After the sample is collected, the spacecraft will begin its return journey, bringing thesample back to Earth for analysis. This is an incredibly exciting mission, and it will provide us with invaluable information about our Solar System. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the launch in 2023!
