A Bright Day for Manatee Conservation: Rehabbed Manatees Released in Florida
Today was a good day for manatees in Florida! Two manatees that were rescued and rehabilitated at the SeaWorld Orlando theme park were released back into the wild. The manatees, named Ted and Bertha, were rescued in January after being spotted in an area of the Florida Coast that was experiencing unusually cold temperatures. After being nursed back to health, the two manatees were released into the warm waters of the Indian River Lagoon.
It was an emotional day for the SeaWorld staff, who had been caring for the manatees for the past month. As the manatees swam away to their new home, the SeaWorld team cheered them on and wished them a long, happy life. It was a celebration of the amazing work that SeaWorld does to protect and rehabilitate Florida’s beloved manatees!
